OT: Scenes from the Argentina parade

I've never seen anything like it. They estimate 5 million people attended which makes it one of the top (non-Muslim pilgrimage) public gatherings in human history. Actually, 5 million were also estimated at the Cubs 2016 parade but I looked at the pictures from that and Buenos Aires seems like 2-3 times more. The bus couldn't move after a certain point due to the number of people so they had to evacuate them and do a helicopter tour.

Here's a crazy video. And how were there no crush deaths, which have been happening too frequently.

Is the Pete going to make a comeback led by the Zoo??

I don't think it (at least this year) will return to those days. Not just because of our success, but back then, familarity breeded contempt, and the UConn's, Nova's, Cuse's, Hoopies, GTown all were long time rivals. Right now, because we have been so down, there really hasn't been that hatred or excitement other than a Carolina or Duke. And we don't have either of them at home the rest of the way.

But I am expecting the Zoo this weekend to be amped.

NET Rankings

Not everyone likes these rankings but it is a primary criteria used for the selection committee.
As of now Pitt has moved up to 52 after the Quad 4 win @ Louisville. Surprisingly moving up a few spots after a win against one of the worst D1 teams. A comment made by the announcers during the game I think is really important to Pitt and that is they have zero bad losses. 8-0 versus quad 3 and 4 teams. This is a must for Pitt's postseason chances due to their stumbles out of the gate and the number of Q3/4 teams remaining on the schedule.

Too much reliance on the 3 ball?

The L'ville game was the first time this year ( and maybe the first time in years) that a whopping 60% of our total shots came from beyond the arc. Fortunately we hit a great 41% of them but that is a rare nite as we shoot 34% on the season which ranks us 144 nationally or right in the middle of the pack for accuracy. But in terms of 3P attempts , they make up 44% of our total shots which ranks us 34th nationally. Thus, we rely on the 3 more than the vast majority of teams but in terms of accuracy we are just average. This suggests that the numbers may catch up with us down the road and it would be great if we could generate some additional points in the paint.

OSU offering $4 million to Stroud to stay

He'll make more in the NFL obviously but guys have stayed in school for $0 at times. For $4 million, to be a college kid one more year, I think you're going to see more of this. Maybe not Stroud necessarily but for some of these guys who love the college life and college football and who are going to be set for life anyway, you can make the argument that its hard to put a price on that extra year of college football playing with your boys. Wouldn't suprise me if he stays.

2025 Rivals 150 (Now up to 80)

Rivals just revealed and reordered the top 80 HS Sophomores.

Lincoln Prep's Maleek Thomas is now #7!!!! So everyone will obviously be after him.
Imani Christian's Alier Maluk is at 16, which is down 2 spots but still a 5 Star.

At #80, RJ Greer. Son of Ricardo Greer, ex Panther.

Isn't there a big at Montour or someone like that from Africa who is 6'9"??

OOC schedule

No reason we shouldn’t be 3-0 heading to Notre Dame. I mean playing Witford is a guaranteed win. Cincinnati at home with Fickell leaving and taking a players to Wisconsin should be a easy win. Bottom feeder in WVU easy win even though it’s a rivalry game. Notre Dame should be a coin flip. Everyon complained about how hard our OOC schedule is but all the sudden with Fickell leaving it looks very easy
