Capel to Georgetown

OK. He just spent five years getting the Pitt program back on its feet. I’m sure he is looking forward to going to another disaster and starting over.

He's trying to cash in on this season and get a contract that will pay him a few million beyond 2027. I think he would prefer that to be Pitt. Unfortunately, his 5 year performance doesn't merit a long term marriage from Pitt's viewpoint. He still needs to try to leverage this season try to get more money out of Pitt. There is a legit possibility he's going to be bought out next year if he stays at Pitt, as he loses the only two guys that didn't play scared yesterday. (Burton & Sibande)

He was King of NY in the late 80s. The St. John's HC position is like some kind of entertaining court jester.
Nah. They’ll be bigger than the Knicks. This is THE greatest pure coach of all time taking over a once proud NYC institution. Hottest ticket in town soon

I completely agree Pitino may be the frontrunner for St. Johns, and I dont need a source for that. The fit is perfect and he will take over the Big East quickly.
The source for the capel to GTown rumors is obviously Capel. No one in the right mind would think he’s actually a candidate there. He’s trying unsuccessfully to pull a Jamie. Maybe if they whiffed on like their first 12 good coach choices they’d go to Capel just to land SOMEONE.

Great coach, without question. I think this is just a little over the top.

It would have been interesting to see his place in history had he not left UK.

No, it was his agent that reached out to G-Town. Agents always do this to get more $$$ so they get $$$. Your JC hate is pathetic

I've heard some good info not guessing
LOL. He should fire his agent then. I mean there is literally ZERO percent chance that’s true. It’s an extension play, clearly orchestrated by Capel first
And..why would Georgetown have any interest in Jeff?

If I were them, I wouldlook for a much less risky hire.

Hirehim and it goes bad, kiss your AD job goodbye.
they don’t. Jeff is telling anyone who will listen he’s interested that he’ll take it but they have their sights set much higher

You spew BS dude. Annoying as hell

Do you really think Heather is going to fire this years coy

This year no.

Going forward, that depends on performance.

COY awards are really meaningless when it comes to job security.

There are 2 types of COY winners... It's, "We knew your team was good, but we didn't think it would be THAT good". There is also, "We thought your team totally sucked but it was actually respectable."

And the please don’t fire this guy even though his best year was a bubble year, kind.

No didn't say I was wrong bud. Jamie's agent did this all the time.
Right… on Jamie’s direction…

Agents don’t do things their clients don’t want. Especially with 4 years left on a deal…

I’m not faulting Capel at all. It’s how the game is played. And it’s the smartest move he’s made since he’s been here. He absolutely has more leverage than at any point in his tenure here.
