TE prospect who used to attend North Catholic but transferred to school in Maryland.

Said Pitt was his dream school???

Can see why the staff is heavily recruiting FLA and GA since the local kids keep going elsewhere.

Not local if he was at a school in Maryland. I was going to say it is hard to get a TE to come here when we didn't throw to one last year, but they have him listed as a LB. We lose a lot of kids to Michigan if they want them.

Local guy. Had a Crystal Ball pick for Pitt from one of the better regarded 247 gurus. So he had to at least be open to the idea of attending Pitt.

We just got beat for him. At some point, Narduzzi has to land these guys if this program is going to get out of the 5 to 6 loss ceiling it's currently at. We can't just keep saying, "Oh well. Lets go get a middle of the road 3* from Georgia to replace him."

Yeah, but we had a 4* that underperformed once so obviously, it doesn't matter. Or something.

"If Pitt wants to start landing more of these local stars and give them more incentive to stay home, they need to consistently win more games."

Bingo! Last year should have never happened. We should have beaten North Carolina and Stanford at the minimum (9 wins). We should have beaten ND as well. We should never have looked as bad as we did in loses to PSU, UCF and Clemson. This year we need to step up and win 9 games and a bowl game or we need to look elsewhere

Those poor Clemson fans think they are going to do well with their class. Fools won't know what hit them when they discover the star system is all a scam perpetrated by big money recruiting services.

Ha ha ha... GET OUT!

Yes our 12-14 record and particularly out last recruiting ranking shows that we have a much better success rate with two and three stars. Got it

I rarely fret over WPIAL kids because I think Pitt fans tend to overweight the local recruits. This is a bummer though as he looks like a legit LB prospect.

Did they offer too late? Does it have something to do with evolve - 2/10ths? Or was it just Michigan selling come be the next Devin Bush? Combination of everything?

Better figure it out because it's looks like they're gonna have a bigger battle for Hayes.

any Pitt fan knows we would be better off with 4 and 5 star players. But the reality is it is really tough to recruit to Pitt. Period.
Name on LB recruit that Harley has brought in? It's sales

I'm not a star follower to its core, but I'd rather have the list above than this 2-3 star list:
Henry Miller
Hez Trahan
Jaquan Davidson
Dennis Briggs
Gentry Ivy
Allen Edwards
Tony Palito
Titus Howard
Devon Edwards
Terrish Webb
Zach Poker

Answer the question. Name one recruit he brought in. Don't dance around the question...

What does that have to do with what I said?

If you are talkin 4/5 star recruits, they are getting a much better goods sold to them than Pitt, making it much more difficult to sale from our side.

We need to do a better job, but we also have an uphill battle from the outset.

Ok, I get it. Your not going to blame the poor recruiting on this staff. Your blaming "Pitt." Got it

Pitt has had a couple of 2 stars that blossomed into all-pros though. So recruiting rankings are obviously B.S. Never mind that those same 2 star success stories played on teams that never won more than 6-7 games or achieved a national top 25 ranking......

well let's face it the problem has not been restricted to one particular staff over the last 35 years......it has been a constant.
Exactly - in the Big Picture of college football we are essentially looked upon as Boston College right now.

Very true, but the cause for more potential concern is that of late we seem to be struggling more. We could always figure on a couple high profile guys maybe beyond our overall place. A Fitz, a McCoy, a Boyd, a Whitehead. Those seem beyond us now. This particular situation, losing a guy to Michigan with Pgh ties who plays LB immediately after the Steelers drafted Bush #1 with a bunch of hype, isn't really too shocking. But it's the overall trend to be concerned for.

Over on the hoops side, even more alarming yet, we seemingly can't even get jabronies, particularly of a big man nature, despite having what should be a lot of advantages over who we're losing out to..

Let me just say that every time I see the term "jabroni" used, it makes me smile.

but the masses preached " COASTAL CHAMPS, COASTAL CHAMPS" It did absolutely nothing because this staff can't recruit to save their ass.

Most people have said it should improve recruiting, which last I looked, it's only May, not February 2020. That said, if you were expecting to pull in top 20 classes because of that, then you are kidding yourself.

Yeah, it's May and Pitt has three more middle of the road recruits in the class than last year at this time. A couple of better targets have already committed elsewhere. Looks like the momentum might "bump" Pitt into the high 40's if everything breaks the right way.

I EXPECT better than 50-65 range. Let me guess your ok with participation trophies too?

We go through this every year in May.

under Narduzzi we've finished #29, #38, #36 and #50. THat is an avg of #38..

Everyone wants better than 50-65 range, including the coaches. We are well above that under this staff.
