B10 probably likes having a few built in jobbers in the conference for OSU & Michigan. No one ever gives a conference slack for having several 2-10 teams like that, but if you have multiple 7-5 teams forget it you're considered a sub par conference.
That’s a very interesting point that have been thinking about as well. Statistically, the ACC gets disparaged for having a lot of parity. In all major pro sports league, rules are made to promote parity. In the rest of the P5 conferences, there is hardly any parity. I like parity, but it near totally(except Clemson) works against the ACC when it comes to rankings and the CFP. The only way to correct for that is to give a conference champion an automatic bid to the CFP, but that would mean expanding the CFP. That’s not happening anytime soon.
