Syracuse outrebounded us by 6 including 2 huge offensive rebounds late in the game to thwart our comeback. I dont know how good Hugley is going to be next season but if this team wants to make the NCAAT next year, it wont do it unless we have a legitimate ACC-level 5 who can rebound. I'd take a Nik Popovic, or Olivier Sarr-type, heck even Rafael Maia's rebounding. We cannot continue to have the worst Center rotation in the ACC and expect success.

Yes, it was clearly a push that allowed him to grab that rebound.
It was tough there. Champ prolly helped a little too much on that drive but I can’t blame him a ton because we absolutely had to have a stop there. Also thought champ played a great second half especially defense and rebounding. But if he stays put with Dolezaj there he blocks him out and grabs it.
Would have really liked our chances in OT had it gotten there.

In addition to having a competent rebounder at the five, a big with strength enough to catch the ball on offense also would have helped today. Having the ability to make strong catches while banging in the paint would have prevented some of today's turnovers and also likely would have put more fouls on the Syracuse paint defenders. You can't finish at the rim, get to the charity stripe, or pass it back out for an open 3-pointer if you can't catch the ball first!

Agree. Maybe next year we will have that guy.
