Jarry has 3 shutouts in his last 5 games and Matt Murray was placed on waivers today by one of the worst teams in the NHL. How about them apples?
Great finish to the Pens game today. Matheson was excellent. 1-0 shutout win to DeSmith. Really good hockey game to watch.
It's great when your goalie steals a game. It is even better when your backup goalie steals a game. I was really impressed with Anaheim. Man, lot's of young talent up front and Jamie Drysdale is going to be a superstar on the blue line.
I think it was you that said before the season that we would really like McGinn. He's a great fit on this team.
The Pens of this year and last have been so refreshing to watch. Sully can flat out coach.
Anaheim is much improved, but the Pens for the most part didn’t allow them to sustain much offensive zone time throughout the game — of course that final minute more than made up for it. What a sequence and what a job by DeSmith. He really needs to show out well the next 2 months or else I can absolutely see Hextall and Burkie wanting to add a veteran backup.
He can. I just don't know what happens to this team come playoff time. It is like they just lose everything and get outworked everytime.
I do think last year’s team was built to win a few rounds — definitely could not have outlasted Tampa — but the style needed to win in the playoffs was there. Just couldn’t get saves. I love the depth on this team, but I do think they could use one more veteran grinder who has some offensive upside (ala McGinn) in the bottom six. I’m not sure Dominik Simon, Drew O’Connor or Brian Boyle are going to cut it during the playoffs. Of course, none of it matters if the Tristan Jarry from last May shows up.
