I worked there for years. The Red Bull in in Shadyside.
Best salad bar ever.
Some of you may remember salad bars. They are long gone, but there were some very good ones and The Red Bull Inn in Shadyside was the best by far.

“Capri. Hold please.”king of the 1980's pizza wars in oakland. I think at one point their large plain was $2.99 and it was good
Very good mentionI just remembered that I had a few good meals also at Jake's Above The Square on Market Square, Downtown.
Tuscan Inn would be my choice. Followed by Park Schenley & McKnight Smorgasboard (JK).The original Hot Dog in Oakland, by far. The Tuscan Inn on Wildwood rd in Hampton. Good Pizza joints in North Hills are Caliente’s, Bellisario’s and Roma, Olives and Peppers rt 8 in Barkerstown, but they recently closed 😢
Not Pgh. Suburb of Erie.Stable Pit and Pub was located on Rt. 18 in Conneaut Lake, PA. I ate there a couple of times many years ago.
There’s no Winkys in Wilmerding.Winkys in Wilmerding (inside joke for the old folks)
Bimbo’s pizza, Roy’s, Rax, Kleins, Tambellinis, Burger Chef.
On Centre Ave, across the street from the Giant Eagle?Maybe not a restaurant per se, but does anyone remember House of Sauce in North Oakland?
yes, it was on Center - down a block or so from Giant Eagle and on the other side of Center. Excellent BBQ chicken. On Centre Ave, across the street from the Giant Eagle?
The (future) missus and I would often get takeout from George Aiken’s and spend a nice summer afternoon - of food, wine, & Frisbee - on Flagstaff Hill. Looking back on it, those were some of the most fun & carefree days of my life.Poli’s in Squirrel Hill.
Not fine dining, but I loved George Aiken’s for a good, quick meal.
LOVED Winners. ate there countless times while bartending at calico's1. Winner’s—Oakland korean
2. Ernie’s and Harvest House: South Hills Village
3. Chichis-nostalgia purposes, only

Did Pleasure Bar close?Pleasure Bar in Bloomfield. That thick block of lasagna is the best
As someone who grew up in Erie, I’ve never heard of Conneaut Lake described as a suburb of Erie. 30 miles south and in a different county. Not Pgh. Suburb of Erie.
Miami Subs pretty good. I would have gone there more often if it weren’t next to Primanti’s and the O.and also Miami Subs
Did it really close, or is it in some sort of limbo? I can appreciate what they have been attempting. However, I'd rather them teach job skills for regular, good food instead of fish with sea urchin foam, or whatever they serve.True, but I think Superior Motors had issues even before they opened with much fanfare. Speaking of hipster, need to include Salt of the Earth on the list which incidentally was started by the same person as Superior Motors. So his track record for stick-tuitive-ness isn't great.
Is that what eventually became the Sharp Edge Creekhouse and has been vacant for a few years?Winkys by the Thornburg Bridge, sweaty vinnies
Great chef, we have followed him for years. Controversial but interesting, talented guy. We started with him at a taco place in the Southside, Yo Ritas , a hot dog place on the circle in East Liberty, Salt of the Earth, Union Pig and Chicken. We sort of know him and like him. Hope it is not closed.Did it really close, or is it in some sort of limbo? I can appreciate what they have been attempting. It was DiPietro's. Their original location in West View is still openAnyone remember the Italian place on 19 In Wexford, about a half mile north of NA highschool? It's been closed for at least 10-15 years, the the building is gone too.
Wife and I ate there once and I recall liking what I had. Name escapes me.
Jake Hickton ran that. He started at Park Schenley. Great place.I just remembered that I had a few good meals also at Jake's Above The Square on Market Square, Downtown.
No, it's still alive and well. They changed ownership a few years ago and dropped the Mariani's name from the signage, but kept many of same recipes.Did Pleasure Bar close?
Didn’t see The Elbow Room listed yet and although I drank there a lot more than I ate, I miss The Sharp Edge Beer Emporium.

No. The Creekhouse is right by the bridge. Winkys was a short bit up the road. I think the Winkys building is now a veterinarian. Is that what eventually became the Sharp Edge Creekhouse and has been vacant for a few years?
