I've always been a fan of your basic best fastball to the abdomen region leading to a turn into small of back...just always thought it had a certain je ne sais quoi about it.

Pass on Rizzo, but throw at Jon Lester's fingers. Hurt the Cubs where it hurts the most!

I've watched the replay several times, and I can't see how the play was anything but dirty.

Sure, 10-15 years ago, this kind of play was accepted, but not today. And yeah, I'll say it: if the situation was reversed, and it was a Pirate player sliding into the Cubs' catcher in the same manner, there would be a huge suspension for the Pirate, and he would be castigated on every talk program outside of Pittsburgh.

TOO LATE. Rizzo should have taken the very next pitch he faced in the ribs. How these umpires and the ones in the booth could have said that was not basic interference is beyond me. Screw the Posey rule. Rizzo violated the interference rule that has been on the books for a hundred years. And it was a cheap shot to boot. And while I am at it, f**k Joe Madden too. He’s an arrogant ass.

Morton and Cole are currently one of the best pitching duos in baseball

Those guys could be the baseball version of Willie Daniel. Daniel, a defensive back for the 1960s Steelers, was about the sorriest excuse for a pro football player you ever saw . . . when he was a Steeler. Upon being traded to the Rams, . . . he promptly became an All-Pro.

The pirates are the Cubs bitch. They own the pirates like the Pats own the Steelers. Like the Globetrotters vs the Generals. Like Larry Fedora vs Pat Narduzzi.

Hurdle did exactly what I thought he would do when one of his players is targeted for injury, NOTHING.

Nah, tonight is the last game of this series so Rizzo should be getting a fastball to the ribs in one of the middle innings. No need for two games of bean balls with one of MLB's prized teams, put one in his ribs tonight get the warnings from the umps then when the Cubs retaliate their pitcher and Maddon get tossed.
