Lifting the jersey like he has going for a gun after the Grinch took the bagWhat exactly was the penalty for after the TD for KC ?
I didn't see anything wrong . Honestly . He was shoveling something into an imaginary sack ?
We still have our annual 1st round playoff blowout loss.Hey Tomlin .. Turn out the lights . The party's over ...
Nah. You're lucking out, which is good for the mediocre mike folks. Texans are cooked without Diggs and Dell. Quite beatable. We still have our annual 1st round playoff blowout loss.
They’re looking cooked early on against the Ravens. But the Ravens are better than the Steelers. And the Steelers got destroyed by Houston last year… although the teams are a bit different.Nah. They are, but, the Steelers will not make it happen. Their coach and players blow! Maybe if it was Tennessee or Jacksonville we'd have a legit shot at a W.Nah. You're lucking out, which is good for the mediocre mike folks. Texans are cooked without Diggs and Dell. Quite beatable.
I'd start and finish with the defense as the culprit. The GM and coach are next. No team in the NFL comes close to the money they spend on the defense. It's embarrassing the kind of effort they get from these guys. They at least have gotten younger and less expensive on the O-line. Watt, Heyward, and Minkah eat up a ton of cap room. Watt, when fully healthy may be worth it, but, he has disappeared in these last three big games. The last eleven days they’ve played three of the four best teams in the league and they’re simply not in their class . They would need to be 100% healthy and get all the breaks to beat any off them
RoGoing winless in these three games doesn’t mean they can’t win a playoff game , but they certainly showed they can’t run the table .
It’s not Wilson , N Harris or the WRs it’s the O line and defense that just aren’t good enough .
Not sure I agree with all of this. The problem with Tomlin is the jabronis he’s hired as coordinators and the rest of the staff. Since all of Cowhers left overs have gone he’s hired stiffs.I'd start and finish with the defense as the culprit. The GM and coach are next. Minkah has been a complete bust after the 1st year he was here.
You can't win building your team around a defense anymore. Especially one that is horrible.
I am so tired of Tomlin and Khan. Fire this smooth talking clown and tank the team for a couple years so we can get some impact players. Our drafts have been average at best lately. We need a new direction, and while we are at it, stop drafting babies with IQ's that match. They have done a very poor job of drafting character people. Ofcourse, Tomlin helps that along by letting the inmates run the asylum.
The defense is vanilla. It’s relies on pressure from the two OLBs and that’s it. There’s no complexity. There’s no nuance. Are they blitzing an ILB, safety or corner? Do they disguise anything? Nah. When do you see that? Not very often. The opposing QB can go up to the line on essentially every play and know where he’s going with the football. It’s such a complete contrast from a dick Lebeau defense. Not sure I agree with all of this. The problem with Tomlin is the jabronis he’s hired as coordinators and the rest of the staff. You can’t win without great defense. Look at the chiefs D. It’s better than the Steelers. Is it talent or coaching ? Who is responsible for not covering the HOF TE or letting the chiefs dink and dunk their way down the field ?
But yeah you also have to have a really good offense. And more than anything that side of the ball has been neglected. From awful OCs to jokes as OL coaches to drafting ten cent head WRs to totally ignoring the OL when you had an NFL HOF Qb. The one constant during all of this is Teflon Mike
It's called ineffective leadership. The problem with Tomlin is the jabronis he’s hired as coordinators and the rest of the staff.
so in short, a Tomlin-like season. which 50% of this fan base loves for some weird reason..This is a mid team. Tomlin has had them a mid team for a while now. I expect a first-round exit from the playoffs, but another winning season, so there’s that.
Nailed it. I’m not sure I saw one blitz yesterday but I could be wrong. Teflon Mike talks a big game but lives in his fears. He plays not to loseThe defense is vanilla. It’s why he’s earned the Knick name mediocre Mike. He’s a good enough to be .500 but not good enough to compete for championships. It's called ineffective leadership.
Tomlin has been a mess for a while. It's especially troubling when you're having the same problems in December of 2024 that you were having in December of 2019. No pass protection. Lack of playmakers on offense. CB's that struggle with good receivers. I think the worst part of this season is that he sold out to try to win it all and the franchise will be an absolute mess in February, regardless of how the season ends. Can probably stomach that if there's a championship but that seems pretty unlikely this morning. Wild how Tomlin manages to not have losing seasons.
The most telling aspect of this is that several veterans are complaining out loud about the attitude of the locker room so we're once again seeing poor that poor leadership manifesting itself as a lack of discipline. It's been an ongoing problem for a long time. It’s why he’s earned the Knick name mediocre Mike. He’s a good enough to be .500 but not good enough to compete for championships.
Tomlin is the person who hired those "janbronis". If they are the problem, then solve the problem by replacing the HC.Not sure I agree with all of this. Totally agree - basic and vanilla as he!!. Nothing remotely innovative at all.The defense is vanilla. It’s relies on pressure from the two OLBs and that’s it. There’s no complexity. Listen, I defend Porter and Pickett, not because I think they are great players, but simply because they are young in their careers and I think people have been overly harsh and their minds are made up due to flawed reasoning. So I understand those who have dug their heels in defending Tomlin. Except he’s been at this for a very long time at this point and how can anyone defend with a straight face these December collapses happening almost every year? People should really try to have my objectivity . Tomlin isn’t very good. He’s also not bad.so in short, a Tomlin-like season. which 50% of this fan base loves for some weird reason..
this "system" or strategy is his though. it's not Khan's or Colbert's thrust upon him. He has been calling the shots with the draft, with FA pickups, with paying (over paying) the defensive players, with ridiculous coaching hires. Everything holding this franchise back is his call.Listen, I defend Porter and Pickett, not because I think they are great players, but simply because they are young in their careers and I think people have been overly harsh and their minds are made up due to flawed reasoning. Tomlin can win again if given the right situation. That situation just doesn’t appear to be here.
Can’t argue with one word or one syllable of what you just said.this "system" or strategy is his though. it's not Khan's or Colbert's thrust upon him. It's groundhog day over and over and over and nothing changes, NOTHING. and it reaps the same results and steeler fans act surprised that we have epic december failures, that our offensive system is outdated and unsuccessful, that we creep over the .500% line and get smoked in the first rd of the playoffs.
This happens every year and steeler fans act surprised, it's insane. literally is the definition of insanity. but here we are. hey, at least we have the over 500% streak going..
but we cant fire him because he'll get a job with someone else quickly after. that's seriously the argument some fans make..Can’t argue with one word or one syllable of what you just said.
For as impressive as Tomlin is as a leader off the field, and I respect him for all of it, none of it can overcome these inadequacies. It’s shown that it simply isn’t the right recipe to compete for championships. It’s like thinking your spice mix can turn flank steak into filet mignon. It can make the flank steak more palatable but at the end of the day it’s still flank steak and you aren’t winning any culinary awards.
This year in and year out performance can’t be defended. And the brand is dying a slow death with each passing year.
