OT: The ultimate hipster defined thread: Bands that are considered legendary, that you hate or...

I cannot believe no one said The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I like them a lot but I could also see how their music would be grating if it wasn't your style. In that same light, I used to loath Green Day but then I saw them live and the performance was so badass that they earned my respect. Then American Idiot came out and there were some good songs on it. However, their old stuff blows.

Chili peppers live is a mixed bag. You get to hear one of the best rhythm sections in flea and Chad but you realize how bad Anthonys voice is and how lame some of the lyrics are.

I have seen green day. Great show. They had 2 solid albums back to back but really are mediocre overall

Those are both good calls too. RHCP is hit or miss with me. Some of their stuff is good, a few of their songs are great, and the rest of it is too similar sounding and boring for my tastes.

I have never connected with Green Day at all. I just don't get them at all and I never have. Their music has a ton of energy to it so I am sure they put on an excellent live show. However, personally speaking, I think their music sucks and is mostly geared at middle school aged boys.

Look in this thread..I DID

The Eagles- they're OK but waaaaay overplayed. I could go the rest of my life never hearing another Eagles song and be happy.
What I call the Holy Trinity of crappy '80's bands: Styx, Journey and REO Speedwagon.
Rush. 'Nuff said.
Frankly not a big Zep fan either. I just can't stand Robert Plant's voice.

I feel the same way about Bob Seger. Old Time Rock & Roll is for Grandmothers to shake their booty on the wedding dance floor to show the young'uns that they can still rock. That song just may be the worst popular rock song ever written. Either that or We Built This City on Rock & Roll by The Starship (or for that matter, anything by The Starship).
I recently read somewhere that " We built this city " was voted as one of the worst 10 songs ever. White Rabbit it ain't.

My vote for worst song ever is "What's Up" by Four Non-blondes. Just sheer torture. I want to shove an ice pick into my eardrums when it comes on.

that's a bad one.. There was one on the radio recently, I swear I thought it was a joke.. Not sure what the title was but the girl kept saying "it's all about the bass, bout the bass bout the bass bout the bass" over and over and over.. I was waiting for some sort of joke commercial but it just kept going.. I could see that song playing over the speakers in the waiting room of hell..
