I want an explanation as to how the Ukraine joining NATO would create more of an external threat to Russia than otherwise given current NATO MEMBERSHIP. Several NATO NATIONS currently have a nuclear capability to reach Russia and, whether Ukraine joined NATO or not, their land forces also could be knocking on Russia’s doorstep in a heartbeat. The Canadian example you raise isn’t any where close to the situation in Europe. Have you ever looked at the map of Europe?
