Stallings to be announced as coach

His kid plays for the Altoona Curve, so he probably wants to be closer to him and his seat was probably going to get hot. I wonder what Jeter thinks.

Lol........I thought you said there is no way Stallings is getting hired. Wow

I can see that Enfield might've turned us down.... but I'm stunned if Barnes had Stallings as his next choice, because he wasn't even on the short list 24 hours ago.

Panic move by Barnes, if true.

If this is indeed the case, then from now on I will take "splash" to mean the displacement of water that occurs when a turd hits the toilet bowl, followed by the wetting of one's buttocks. In other words, a humiliation for all parties.
Or the sound of puke into the toilet bowl. Ugh. this sucks if true.

Who are yours?
Better than a couple media folks?

As of 24 hours ago, Stallings wasn't even on the interview list.

This would be a panic hire because others turned us down.

Barnes would have made a worse hire than SP hiring Mike Haywood.

Agree, and if you're going to panic, go with BK. People wouldn't be ecstatic, but this is going to cause a revolt. I'm expecting them to lose at least half of the season ticket holders. This is a program killer.

23 years. 7nit 9ncaa 2sw16. Won mvc twice
Career .616. Finished 2nd in sec 3 times in 17 srasons. Yikes

Why not just keep Dixon if you are going to hire Stallings? You had the buyout to prevent him from leaving.
You can't hold a coach hostage who doesn't want to be here.

We had no way to "keep" Dixon.

Stallings really isn't a bad coach at all. I'm not quite sure this is the best fit. But he's been respectable for a long, long time at a place where its really tough to win and maintain any kind of consistency.

If he can't win in the SEC, how do you think he will win in the ACC?

WoW, and to think folks were complaining about Lonergan. At least he had upside. Hell, if you're going that way, you might as well have hired Herb Sendek. Did Jim Crews not return Barnes' phone calls?

Barnes is an incompetent fool if this is true.
I, too, will not be renewing my season's tickets. My wife will love this because I'll be able to spend a lot more time with her from October to March.

If it's true that it's Stallings, then Pitt will forever be known as the school that gave Vanderbilt and Stallings a major parachute because Stallings' days at Vanderbilt were numbered. Pun intended, but Stallings' program at Vanderbilt has stalled tremendously the past few years.

And to think some of you guys were laughing about the prospect of thinking about Fran McCaffery at Iowa as a potential next head coach at Pitt when someone threw his name out there a few days ago. At least with him you would have had a PA native and a top recruit coming along with him in his son.

Pitt truly should have been able to do much better than Kevin Stallings.
