The inability to recruit a solid TE is definitely worrisome. Pitt doesn't need a 5-Star TE in the offense they run. They had a solid TE for their scheme in Sear and we all know how that ended. Pitt needs that run blocking, insurance blanket third down TE like they had in Holtz and Orndoff and then Sear. Will Gragg is a nice addition, but for what Pitt wants to do philosophically doesn't make much sense. Part of it is their own fault. For the scheme they run and as a ball possession offense there is no reason why the tight end shouldn't be a big part of their offense in play action and third down. That comes down to coaching.
