This would have been the perfect season to roll this out. PSU, Ok State, Ga tech in a row.....Young team with new unproven QB. Narduzzi knew from back in August this was a rebuilding year.

Other teams would laugh at us...fans would poke fun on social media......but the embarrassment would eventually wear off and go away. And Pitt would have a tarp in place for games going forward next year and thereafter.

Of course, it seems our athletic director does not see the need for a tarp so this opportunity that would have made perfect sense will not happen.

Atmosphere at HF sucks. we have no land, money or commitment to an OCS

A tarp is the answer. Somebody wake up Ms Lyke.

pitt fans screaming about a tarp are the epitome of pathetic.. id rather you guys propose pitt playing at Robert morris stadium or where Duquesne plays, it would actually be less embarrassing..

yeah but old people would complain about the traffic. I mean, could you imagine trying to get in and out of moon on a Saturday afternoon? oh man, it would be like 40 minutes before you'd be back home on your couch, screw that noise.

Unfortunately with Pitt......this would be the result.

What is worse, empty yellow seats or a Pitt-branded tarp? Aesthetically alone, I think the tarp would look nicer.

Fans and other coaches will make fun of a tarp, sure, but its not like they dont make fun of empty seats. At least with a tarp, it might create a better gameday atmosphere by making the stadium smaller so Pitt fans are sitting closer to each other.

If people make fun of either one, no additional tickets are sold either way, and one strategy costs nothing and requires no effort, what option do you think Pitt leadership will (continue to) go with?

You kinda defeated yourself with your own post acknowledging all that.

Why? It makes perfect sense to do it. There literally is no one in some of these sections.
