He should at the very least Fire Josh Conklin
GET OFF THE BOARD!I would honestly take him back in a second right now.
You know, I rarely post on this board anymore, because the quality of discussion has declined considerably over the past few years. I mainly read it just to laugh.this is ridiculous and unacceptable. Hell maybe Pitt should beg Wanny to come back

Something rational! You know, I rarely post on this board anymore, because the quality of discussion has declined considerably over the past few years. I mainly read it just to laugh.
But this is too comical not to comment on.
I mean, you want to fire a coach who inherited a program that went 31-29 (regular season) in the previous five years. He goes 16-8 in his first two, including signature wins over Louisville, Penn State, and Clemson, and no egregious losses. He has a young team, plays 2 teams in the Top 10 early, looks shaky, and now you want him gone? I mean, seriously? Are we wanting to hire the college football version of Kevin Stallings? Because that's about all Pitt is going to get under that scenario.
And to boot, you even suggest Wannstedt, who was largely responsible for mucking up the program for about a decade? I can only hope you're telling a very bad joke.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but pretty sure too this was basically the first game in the Narduzzi era in which Pitt wasn't really competitive in. Sure, there were some games you knew they probably wouldn't win, but still kept relatively close. Notre Dame 2 yrs ago comes to mind.
But today was fitting, since it was a horrific matchup.
It's Narduzzi's defense. Last year was the worst pitt defense in possibly Pitt's history and Narduzzi didn't fire the guy who just so happens to have the DC title. There is a reason why he wasn't fired. It wasn't by accident.
I think a better discussion is this:
Given pitt's vision for athletics.....horrible donor base and pathetic fan base
Can any coach win here?

Edit: Ok, I saw your post a bit farther down. My goodness you're actually not joking. You're actually that stupid.
Should have last seasonHe should at the very least Fire Josh Conklin
Fans fault ?????? LMAO
He would be a fine coach at a university that supports sports. I think they gave him the impression he would when he took the job, or he wouldn't have taken it. But I do wonder what he thinks now.
Actually, our fans are so great, we reward them with a free beverage if they stay for the whole game.Uhh genius......
No one is blaming the fans......I am merely laying out exactly what is in place at pitt.
Silly discussion.
Narduzzi is the right man

I'm pretty sure that impressed the visiting recruits......

This is possibly the dumbest post in Lair history and there have been a ton of dumb post. You fire a HC after 2 8-4 season at a place like Pitt and you can forget about landing a good HC at any point in the near future. I mean what HC would take over Pitt if 17-12 gets you fired after 2. 25 seasons. PN won 8 games his first two season's. Thats after the previous 2 coaches never won more than 6 in the regular season.this is ridiculous and unacceptable. Hell maybe Pitt should beg Wanny to come back

He is the HC. The fact is they went 8-4 the last two seasons! They brought in Peterman, not PC. They won 8 in 2015 with their best player lost for the season in game one. Haven't lost to a bad team unlike every previous Pitt coach, most of them multiple times. Like I said in a another poster I didn't like the hire when it was announced. But he has earned a chance for another 2 years after this one. If they are still going 6-6 and the D still stinks then fire him and start over. I want to see one Pitt team with all the players recruited by the current HC.Pitt' 8 wins last season are ALL due to the offense. You are giving Narduzzi credit for the play of the offense?

Conklin "at the minimum?"... What else could they do to the guy? Fire him then murder him? Kidnap family members? Sheesh this board is tough today... and I thought I was pissedConklin should at the minimum be fired. And Narduzzi needs to turn this around very quickly or his seat becomes very hot by next year. He has shown no real progress in the time he's been here.
But this Pitt administration is incapable of hiring a competent replacement. Neither Lyke nor Gallagher have the slightest clue about anything. We are in a no win situation until we get a decent AD in place who does have a clue.

didnt Urban Meyer say he was sick of hearing coaches complain about the players they inherit when they take new jobs? Now Narduzzi hasn't complained, but it is year 3 when does he get responsibility for this clusterfk? Considering his speciality is defense it makes this all the more disgusting.
Believe me, Dooz will do just fine when he leaves to succeeed Dantonio at MSU in a couple of years. He would be a fine coach at a university that supports sports. I think they gave him the impression he would when he took the job, or he wouldn't have taken it. But I do wonder what he thinks now.
Which is less than the previous coaches have done. 8-5 is probably the standard for Pitt with the current support from fans and administration. Sure you should have some years where you do a bit better but you would also have years where you will be worse. We lost 3 starters before the season. Anyone expecting him to resign/be fired at this point is a idiot. Now I have some doubts moving forward. He lost 5 games each year.
