I feel like grabbing someone a and putting then in a car against their will is something that will never turn out good.

I mean, going into that, what is the best case scenario? How does this work out well for you, even if everything goes as planned? Do you really act surprised after this when you are getting arrested? Like you didn’t see this coming.

If my buddies ask me to come along with them to grab a guy and put him in a car, I’m gonna need some clarification on the game plan and specifics before I commit myself to going along.
Ever see the movie Alpha Dog? Something fairly benign at the start turned out really bad.

We can look forward to watching him on Season 5 of Last Chance U.

No 4 year school is gonna touch this guy. Even if a coach was inclined to take a chance, he’d get an immediate phone call from someone in administration that would change his mind.

Depending on how his legal troubles play out, this kids best option now is to go the JC route and try to keep his nose clean for two years and hope a Div 1 team will pick him up. However, if he is convicted, it's game over.

How do you guys think our future looks at DT? Maybe twyman sets the bar too high but I’m not sold on danielson yet. No clue about Bentley or green either.

I think the TJ kid got moved inside. Palmer. These guys are puppies though I know that so by no means am I discouraged. Just not sold that our depth is great for ‘21 and beyond.

I thought Danielson and Bentley played well last year for their first real action. Most linemen (OL and DL) need time in the weight room and training table. Don't sleep on Kancey from what I have heard from practice. I see us looking for another DL with Brown now off our board.

It's getting a little crowded on the OL. One or two of those guys will need to figure out something else to play. Maybe that's in the cards?

Yes the guys you mentioned are young and were solid last year as RS Frosh. Very few DTs will have the pass rush talent of a Twyman. But as you said Kancey has lots of upside and could be an interior pass rusher. In an interview leading up to the bowl game with Salem Brightwell he was asked about young players that stood out and he mentioned that Kancey was going to be real good.

Did you mean crowded on the DL? Adding in the new guys coming in we will have at least 20 DL unless some switch positions. And I believe a few will. One guy who may switch to OT and I think could do well as he would be an athletic OT is Bryce Nelms. He is growing like crazy. He was 260 when he verbaled to Pitt and PN said he is now around 290 or 295 at 6’ 6”. When he signed I mentioned how he could grow into an OT. And one of the lead experts for 24/7 said he could be a good DL but has lots of upside as an athletic OT. BTW at the end of the year and for bowl practice he worked at OT.

Also the huge frosh TE from NJ worked at OL towards the end of the year.

We all know the OL has to improve and hopefully the 4 young guys who played last year take a big step forward. For next year I think our OL will come down to 6 guys. Morrissey is C, Hargrove is LG and it seems Kradel will be the RG for the next 3 years. At OT it looks like Warren, Van Lynn and Houy fighting it out for the 2 spots but all 3 will probably play. Warren was over matched a lot but he was also playing for the first time. I believe he would be better at RT than LT. Van Lynn has more athletic ability to play LT IMO.

I think a lot of the guys you reference are defensive ends. I don't know for sure. I do know that there are a lot of OL-men jammed up for just a couple of open spots.

With Nelms & Collier moved to OL, that gives us 18 @ DL & 15 @ OL. Still - would like to see those numbers balanced a touch more given both units recent performance.

I’m not seeing this logjam at OL that you are. I see 14 and three are entering last year. That includes wheeler who isn’t Evan an OL.

that’s not ally at all and 8 out of 14 are either SR or JR.

Yes but we will lose both Morrissey and Hargrove after this year. And the ones who never play will prob move on opening up spots.

I see more leaving than coming in. 5 are juniors, three are Srs.

Actually just 2 Seniors in Morrissey & Hargrove. Brandon Ford is not coming back for his RS Sr year. He is graduating & moving on with his life’s work. Nothing against the kid but I see that as a good thing because it opened up a ship as Ford was never going to play.

You may be including Wheeler but as you know he now plays FB.

If someone is suggesting we currently have enough quality O linemen for this level of play, I'd submit they're mistaken. You might want to take a closer look at the players we have there. Not a ton of quality or experience outside of Morrissey, Houy, Hargrove and Warren. I believe there are 3 walk-ons not named Morrissey. Ford and Drexel have not contributed to speak of and likely never will. We are particularly thin at OT behind Warren. Drake is looking like a recruiting miss. Goncalves and Dick are developmental players that may or may not pan out. Overall the quality and depth along the OL is an issue for sure.
