Vanderbilt's gym

Guys, please, someone just tell me i am not completely nuts. But i've had this rant for years, probably going back 15-20 years where i absolutely, without a doubt, despise Vandy's home court.

Now i dont like a lot of gyms, how they look on tv, the team itself, camera angles from the rafters (Duke, Dayton) but this vanderbilt court is something far worse. i will go so far to say that i have a really hard time watching a game when it's at this venue. of course i'll watch tonight but outside of pitt, i cant do it.

Am i alone in this. does anyone else feel this pain that i do?

TE involvement

I know many of us questioned the lack of involvement Gavin Bartholomew had this season. And I'm sure a lot of it was geared to Cignetti's offensive scheme.

But I beg to differ. I think it's all about the QB.

How so, Moe?

If you look at the 2021 Pitt team stats, the second most pass completions (66) were thrown to the TE (Stull and Barth combined). Look at the Steelers stats with KP as QB. Freiermuth is 2nd with 58 catches to Johnson with 61.

I doubt that either Pitt under Whipple or the Steelers under Canada have that many passing plays (where the TE is the first option) in their playbook.

Pickett is a rare breed QB that can read the field, go through the progressions, and find the TE. Slovis either couldn't or didn't.

Certainly time will tell if Jurkovec (presuming he's our QB in 2023) will employ better use of the TE in our offense. It would be fun to see Gavin shine in our passing game next year, regardless of who's under center

H2P!

If you could go to one soccer rivalry game?

Which one would you go to? During a recent broadcast, Stu Holden said Boca Juniors vs River Plate is on his bucket list and surprisingly, Chad Ochocinco mentioned on Twitter that he went to that game a few years ago. I never thought of that game as being one of the best in the world.

I guess for me, it would have to be Barca/Real Madrid. Not going out on any limbs there. However, after that, I'd probably pick Rangers/Celtic. That game is more than football. Its Catholics vs Protestants. Pro-Irish vs Pro-England. Pro-EU vs Pro-Great Britain

Minchey now a 4star ????

I can’t wait to hear all the national guys and their excuses of why KM Wasn’t a four-star on the last rivals upgrade when he was a pitt commit and then a little more than three weeks later after committing to Notre Dame he gets his bump. Mind you he did not play this whole season. Due to injury. So it’s not like they had a lot of film the review and man did he jump off the screen. this is all BS. It has been from the beginning I called out every single time and I’m always given a song and dance just like every other pitt fan on here about why the rankings didn’t get the bump or why a person is rated differently until he switches to school or commit somewhere else or gets a different offer. It’s always been clear it’s about money and Fanbase. It’s about boosting their ego too sure their fan base stays locked in the rivals. I would love to hear the defense of this one and how they came to assess that KM is now at rivals top 250 4 star, and wasnt 3 weeks ago.
thank you rivals for exposing yourself on this one. pitt fans needed closure.

Playoff hypotheticals

Humor me.

Suppose that both USC and TCU lose their conference championships game. That means OSU and Bama get into the playoffs. With Georgia ranked #1 and Michigan #2, would the selection committee select OSU for the third spot, meaning they would square off with Michigan again, while Bama plays against Georgia? There are a number of scenarios were this seems possible... but would the selection committee allow it, or do you think they would manipulate the rankings for the matchups, even if it meant ranking the teams out of obvious order?
