1st try at a Pitt YouTube channel

Can we get those flags waving in the crowd again?

I tried. It think it was 2011, Adam’s freshman year against Cincinnati New Years Eve Day. I had a flag on a collapsible/telescoping pole. It would collapse to the size of of an umbrella, so I was able to get by security without any problems. It could extend to about 5 feet or anything in between. I let everyone know who sat around me a game before that I was going to bring a big flag to raise and wave just to make sure that wouldn’t be annoyed. Anyway, when the team comes out of the tunnel at the 3 minute mark prior to the game I extend the pole, raise and start waving the flag. After about a minute later two security guards come to my seats and tell me it’s against the policy of the Pete and to stop or be escorted out. They said I could take the flag off the pole and wave it but that’s not what I wanted to do so I put it away. We ended up losing in OT.

terrible

OK @HAIL2PITT24 , this is the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament against OK State which had no answer for Sam Young who had 32.

" "

I remember watching this in an apartment on North Craig street with a bunch of (fellow) nerds. Our host loved gadgets and had just had a 60" TV delivered by Amazon or Newegg. It was glorious.

Crazy how old that teams looks. Fields and Young look like buddies shooting the shit while waiting for their middle school kids' basketball practice to let out. Grown men they were.

Watching Pitt - UConn from 2004. Special game in my heart as my first child was born during this game. What an athletic team with athletic bigs.

Hi Jeff, there's a lot of great Pitt football games already out there, but one I've been trying to find for a while is the Pitt Louisville game of 2015 where Juan Price goes off on Lamar Jackson. I was at the game, would love the replay if you have it. Thanks again for all your efforts!

I think you have the wrong year. Bridgewater was gone by 2015, but did start against Pitt at Heinz back in the Tino era (2012, I believe). The 2015 game would have been Reggie Bonnafon and Lamar Jackson at QB. I think they actually started a 3rd guy if I’m not mistaken. Either way, the 2nd quarter of the 2015 game against Ville was awesome.

You're totally right! I was thinking of Lamar Jackson. Thanks!

Do you have the Pitt-Miami game from 1993 where Miami forgot to put a team on the court at the end, and Pitt just stole a win. Maybe the all-time WTF Pitt ending.

thanks

I vividly remember that game. They were late coming out from the timeout and the ref asked them once or twice, then gave Pitt the ball.

Yep, but if I remember correctly, I think that might have only tied the game, but McCullough stole the ball and then we had like a fast break for the win. The McNeal layup I remember for sure, but I don’t think that basket put us ahead...but It’s hazy lol

Yes think you're right! It was both the free basket from miami not taking the court in time and the immediate steal after Miami hustled back to inbounds it, just a totally unlikely late win.

Sorry to disappoint everybody - I have the 1993 game at Pitt a few weeks earlier but that one was played in Miami a few weeks later and wasn't shown in New York where I could tape it.

I thought it was Antoine Jones who scored off the feed for a 86-84 improbable win.

I think it was. Don't remember him well but good athlete who stole the actual inbounds pass maybe? Or someone else stole the pass and Jones got the lay up?

Jeff could you post both Syracuse games from the elite 8 season 2008-2009. With Blair, Fields and Young? Thx. Love your channel.

Jeff ... thanks so much again for doing this. I anxiously await each of your next entries!

Two things ... I do hope you get the chance to get around to most or even all of the games I listed in a previous post (I know it was a whole lot). Even the two losses I suggested!

On the pay board, @CougarClaws posted the 1981 Pitt Duquesne Eastern 8 Final. I think it would be great to get this game onto your channel!

I'm working through your list and some others. Just takes some time to upload them.

I'll see what I can do with bringing over the Pitt-Duquesne game from 1981 which I'd never seen before, thanks for the heads up.
