Totally agree with you. In the age of people calling for slavery reparations they need to look long and hard and analyze the treatment every ethnic group got when they first showed up and compensate accordingly, non-WASP white people weren't ever slaves, but you can't argue that they where privileged in any way or had equality when they first came. In fact, all groups non English Protestant origin where pretty much treated like crap when they came here.
Actually, there were plenty of white slaves before the Civil War.
Nobody from my family ever set foot in North America until the 1920s, both my grandfathers, and those guys stayed here alone for maybe 10-15 years without their families and just sent back money from the jobs in the WV coal mines, then my parents moved here after the war in 1947. So while slavery was a thing in the USA, my ancestors where herding sheep and growing olives on the Greek Islands, we earned no privilege through slavery.

Discrimination's wrong. My kids didn't need affirmative action, either, but some deserving kids got shoved down the list by that failure.

Not that it matters, but I do find it odd how most of our opponents in the ACC and almost across college basketball, usually have multiple white guys in their regular rotation and Pitt almost never seems to have even one? Luther was the last white guy to get regular minutes for Pitt, who before that? Gray? Donatas Zavaskas? Kendall, Steven Adams, if he's even white? I don't really care as long as we are winning, and have good players, it's just odd.

Not at all. Letting the gov't pick winners and losers is wrong. If a kid from Fox Chapel is a worse student than a kid from Bumpkin Center or Homewood.....the Fox Chapel kid should be third in the pecking order. I believe in meritocracy, not social engineering.
Why are some school districts bad?? And a kid jumped over by some gov't guilt trip policy had his place STOLEN from him.
Exactly, if you are going to have test and standards, they should matter and nobody should be able to do worse then jump ahead because their parents didn't help or they where poorer or don't know how to read too good -LOL. I remember Baltimore City advertised a firefighter exam, top 30 scores get the job, it said so, in the want ad. So after the top 30 scorers where ALL WHITE MALES, who WON THE JOB ON MERIT, they changed it and made some rigged system and screwed some of them out of the JOBS THEY DESERVED, after the fact. If it bothered them so much who was actually most qualified based on the standards they posted, they could have just changed it for future hirings. What actually happened was the white guys SCREWED OUT OF THEIR RIGHTFUL JOBS, ended up getting hired later and won damages for BEING CHEATED.

I honestly think liberals believe that colonial America invented slavery lol. Should we tell them that slavery existed before the 18th century or let them continue to make fools of themselves?
