Lyke on The Fan

Nice.
Will add a tiny bit of atmosphere to the game.
Would be about 10-15k fans.

That's not what she said. She was asked if permitted, would they be ready to have fans this weekend and her answer was yes. They are still trying to get approval of their plan. She didn't hint or make any statements about fans being permitted this weekend.

The meeting with the governor is friday, but that leaves only one day to get tickets out.

That seems like a good number. It’s ridiculous they don’t allow family and the band.
It’s definitely not ridiculous to not have band

Crissakes talk about a super spreader situation

if you’ve never been in band believe me you have no clue.

From what I was told the Notre Dame game was the time frame for allowing fans to go back into Heinz Field

I heard the same, but I hope they at least allow families and the band for the NC State game. We're looking at 16k for the Steelers and us after that

I talked to the ticket office last week and they said notre dame is the earliest. I dont see how they could pull Saturday off with the governor meeting on Friday. The ticket office said tickets will be available based upon priority points with panther club. Those that get chosen would have to let the ticket office know if they are using their tix as the ticket office said not all will be comfortable attending due to covid. So I see no way they could pull this Saturday off in less than a week.

Daughter's 200+ marching band has been practicing since AUG and football games since early SEP. Practices only outdoors, and by section, masks, spread out across multiple stadium sections for games. So far no runs on refrigerated trucks or vents - or even a single positive.

Well condescension aside, I never been in a band. My son plays in the band at another large school, they abide by social distancing and have not had a covid case. Not sure why you think playing football is less a super spreader than the band? Perhaps you can

You have to be lying or just totally ignorant of the situation. ( of course I kid)

Yeah well aware as I work with a drumline myself. I think it’s important to understand college band doesn’t have the same restrictions in terms of day to day that a football program does though. They aren’t being tested constantly and are in the general student population a lot more.
I’d also seriously question bringing in the band at this point considering most experts are expecting an increase ( seeing in some areas already) in fall/winter.

just consider us lucky to be seeing football at this point without any moved or canceled games. .. that’s how I’m looking at it.

I'm surprised HL said otherwise on WFAN, but I hope they do have some people in the house Saturday.

That isn't right. First priority will be given to people who either rolled over this year's tickets to next year or donated the money they paid for this year's tickets to the athletic department.

Now in that group of people I am sure that they will go by priority points. But if you are number 500 on the list and you asked for a refund of your ticket money and number 501 rolled their money over to next year, then number 501 will have priority over number 500. As will number 600 or 800 or 2000.

I suspect the number of season ticket holders at the top half of the priority points list who asked for a refund is very, very small.

What is the point of having a band, if there are no fans? If you are trying to cut expenses, given the lack of ticket revenue, why add that expense, even though it is no doubt small.

Ok...i should have been more clear. You are correct. Since I rolled over, but kept my panther club donation that is where she was coming from.

The band should be the next allowed, they are students that are enrolled in a class to support the football team, similar to the chearleaders. The season ticket fat cats will just need to wait. There were many game last weekend where they had band members spaced at 6 ft apart and tool up and entire section. Pitt can do that too and create a little atmosphere and have a place for the football team to sing at the end of the game.

In reality 15-20K shuld be allowed in but that wont happen until Oct 24 when Penn st starts having games
