He should have taken a TO with 1:15 left on the clock. You always take the time out in that situation because your offense can stop the ball whenever they need to and it gives you more options with play calling.
It seems everyone knows this except the smart ass who out smarts no one, ever.
That was one ugly half of mind numbing FB…..why would anyone other than a Browns or Steelers fan even watch this mess.
All NFL teams lose to bad teams. This isn't college. The spread was a field goal. The spread on a #1 vs #7 game in college would be double digits. The Browns just beat the Ravens. Pretending only Tomlin loses as a favorite is intellectually dishonest. He can't win playoff games but he isn't an outlier among NFL coaches when it comes to losses against bad team.

I think there’s some unspoken myth that having that time out at half time makes it more valuable… then you’re allowed 4 in the second half 👍

Your damn right it does. This team's salary cap is tied up in the defense and it didn't come to play. Miles Garrett is dominating mostly because our O-line blows. What has our defense done? Winston blows if you pressure him, but, the Steelers have him so comfortable he needs a rocking chair. Our defense is overated. Porter is no where near Jeudy, letting him make easy catches. I am used to our offense blowing, it has blown for the better part of 6 years now. If the defense is eating up your salary cap, it has to make some plays. So far, nothing!

Exactly, every NFL team has relatively equal talent. On any given week the team "ranked" 32 is much closer to the team ranked #1 than the talent differential between #1 in college and #8
