Steelers vs Ravens Gamethread

Whew. Thought he might Steve Young that into TO. Need Heyward to be healthy. Maybe not for next week, but soon enough.

Pretty sure we were all waiting for a flag there. Sounded like a gunshot on the hit at the goal line.

It shouldn't be a penalty, because Fitzpatrick has the same right to try to catch the ball that the receiver does, but I agree, I waited a second or two to see if the flag was coming.

Great win.

Great play by Fitzpatrick

Not the Ds best effort but they made the key stops when they needed to.

it’s amazing how the pieces for this team have come together

Agreed, replay was clear but watching live it was hard to tell if it was a headshot or not. Was holding my breath for a second.

Those were two good football teams on the field today. AFC North football is serious business.
Now that Tom Brady has left NE, it is these two teams and the Chiefs fighting for AFC dominance.

Steelers were dominated statistically the two picks by Jackson were the difference

I have a feeling the Steelers O will be much better in the rematch

The picks and the first fumble. TOs dictated a lot of the day.

And folks that is what winners do. They win. Win. And win alot. And win consistently. Win through adversity. Win wherevever. Win with whoever.

You can hate the Steelers if you want, but they earn and demand your respect.

Yup. Hate all you want but they get it done more often than not. Same with Tomlin. The dude just wins.

It’s a shame they’ve always been the second best team in the AFC. First Brady now Mahomes.

Yep, KC is going to be a big mountain to climb. Just get there though...anything can happen!

Could you imagine Tomlin as a college coach? With his personality, and enthusiasm, how he relates to players, he would be an unbelievable recruiter.

Hope Del was watching! Fathead having quite a year!!

I will disagree with this slightly, I think “Fathead” has become much more of a game manager type QB this year, which is exactly what this team needed. They are good enough on defense that they don’t need a QB throwing the ball into tight spots and taking a lot of chances.

This team will be better in the long run with game manager Roethlisberger rather than the guy from the last few years that had some spectacular games, but had way, way too many turnovers. I give him a lot of credit for changing his style of play at this stage of his career. They just need him to be steady to give the Steelers their best chance to win.

Ben loves this young receiving corps
You can tell he’s enjoying playing with them

Has 4 really nice receivers in Johnson, Claypool, Smith-Schuster, and Ebron. Not many other teams can say that, if he can play a steady game and avoid the turnovers this team can go really far.

GD man throw the ball to Claypool! Homie is playmaker and star in the making. Steelers have had a gift of WR picks and he will be the best yet.

So he's having a good year! ???

Definitely. Tennessee game was an aberration to this point.

Advanced metrics say he isn’t having that good of a year, especially with passes more than a few yards downfield, but I disagree. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone else use the game manager term yet, but it’s not a derogatory term. It means you arent trying to do too much other than make the necessary throws and avoid the big mistake. That’s exactly what he’s been doing.

Ben is playing just fine. He won't win any accuracy awards. Throw the 50/50 ball to Claypool for Christ's sake! I really like Claypool as you can probably guess, he us an uber athlete that we don't usually see in a Stillers uniform.
