I would be surprised if West is interested in WVU and WVU is interested in West....I could be wrong and things change, but....
I would guess West ends up in Oakland. Close to home, definite opportunity, etc. He would also have big time opportunity 30 minutes from his hometown in Mo-town but WVU is focused on a specific target.

It was deleted pretty fast but yesterday some guy who called himself a Louisville donor posted here that West is committing to them today. Claimed he had inside information. So I hope this Louisville thing is just hot air. We'll know soon I guess.

A lot of excitement about a 12 PPG game from CUSA. He will be Horton/Sibande. A nice reserve at the P6 level.

He’s a legit plus defender who will be a leader and can handle the ball. This team can use that.

I get all that and yes he is a better option than Onye but unless Champagnie comes back AND we get a legit 5, this team is starting at 3-17/2-18 so I cant get excited about these guys. Now, lets say we get Reid and Champagnie decides tomorrow to take his name out, then yes, I'd be excited about adding pieces for what I would view as a team that can get to the NCAAT

Its a good solid quality addition. No, Jarrod West is not the 5 star 2nd coming of Magic Johnson. He is indeed a solid pickup on both ends of the floor.
Conference USA is a 1 bid league and that was when the A10 was rolling. This is why people don’t take you seriously. He’s not close to the level of TJ. He’s a solid pickup especially as a 1 year rental but you just put unrealistic expectations on every kid by doing stuff like this.

Ithiel Horton averaged 10 points per game in ACC conference play with an ORTG of 106 in acc conference play and shot 39% from 3 point range in ACC conference play.
Apparently, he can shoot and play in the acc like I said he could.
He averaged 8.9 PPG. I predicted 8. I was right, per usual. That’s why he’s being recruited over. Because he’s so bad on defense 8 PPG is not enough.
The only feather in your cap is that Horton came out of the gate extremely slow after not playing a single basketball game in 2 years after the redshirt year. He scored 5 against St. Francis, 2 against Gardner Webb, 5 against Drexel, and 0 against Northwestern, all games at the start of the season.
That type of stuff is irrelevant. I want to know what a player does in league play as I constantly separate conference from non conference. Its why your favorite player Trey Mcgowens is a pretender. He always juices his numbers against garbage teams in the non conference then full collapses in conference play.
Horton can play in the ACC. The ACC stats are what matters, not stats in game 1 against St. Francis. He wont start slow next year since there wont be a 2 year hiatus like last time.
Defense is the key, which is part of Vader’s original point. In my mind, I would never compare West to TJ, but in the college game his defense will make us a lot better. Oh how quickly some forget about our perimeter defense in 2021. There are a couple games that we likely win if he were with us this year. I really appreciate your insight on this one and hoping you’re right. It’s the first shoe to drop.
CUSA is probably closer to the NEC than it was to when the A10 had Xavier and a really good Temple team.

As with the ridiculous expectations set on him by Jeff Capel “as the best scorer in the ACC”, you’re putting expectations on him he won’t meet next year. He will have been scouted and will be a bit player. His numbers will go down next year.

Pitt's back court is already better than 2 years ago. West pushes it to much better than 2 years ago.
