OT: NBA Playoffs

I'd remove the Sixers from that because of their "process" bullshit. I'd be happy with any of the Bucks, Jazz, Suns winning. Didn't include Atlanta because I don't think they're capable.
The whole process is so overblown. The Lakers were worst than the 76ers longer. Minnesota has sucked since KG left and always have a top three pick. What people fail to realize was Embiid and Simmons being hurt their rookie years made it seem that much worse and longer than it actually was.

Say what you want, the brass balls it took for Sam Hinkie and ownership to not rush Embiid back saved his career. Any other executive on the precipice of losing his job woulda ran JOJO out there and ruined his entire career.

Yup. I didn't expect Embiid to be able to sustain a career with the injuries he had. Credit to the Sixers for doing it right.

I don't doubt that it's overblown. But hearing the fans cheer "trust the process" alone is enough for me to prefer the Bucks, Jazz or Suns winning it instead.

The 76ers were run more like the Charlotte Hornets prior to this ownership than anything else. Horrible, short sided moves to get to that 8seed and get run off the floor. Consistently signed over priced veterans, traded the entire future for Andrew Bynum! Prior to Hinkie the 76ers future looked worse than the nets after the KG trade with Boston.

Oof, forgot about that Bynum trade! Lost Igoudala and Vucevic in that one.

Trae Young is growing on me.

Oh, I didn't say they weren't capable of beating the Sixers... Just don't think they're capable of winning a championship this year. Maybe a year or two away from being a proper contender.

Trae Young is awesome. If that rule change comes to pass it will impact him, Harden, among other though. I think most will want it pass. Too much foul hunting. Don't blame them for taking full advantage of the current rule. Why wouldn't you?

Embiid did kind of look like that injury of his maybe caught up to him? But, if he gets back to his usual output in this series, Sixers still likely win the series.

Clips impressive again tonight. Things getting interesting with remaining three ongoing series knotted at 2-2!

Last night's game was there for the Sixers to take, with the Hawks shooting only 36%.

Embiid was flopping all over the place, missing layups. Harris and Simmons were non-existent in the 4th qtr. Doc did the smart thing and benched Simmons for the final play.

Shake Milton had an open 3 with the defender backing off. That would've been a better shot attempt rather than the set play for Curry.

This series is pretty frustrating. The Sixers are +25 through 4 games and have basically blown out the Hawks except for the first 2 quarters of Game 1 and the 4th quarter of Game 4, yet the series is 2-2. Sixers need to stop playing around, giving up 20 made 3s and Embiid going 0-fer across an entire half is unacceptable.

Embiid looked like that knee was bothering him.

Crippling loss for the Bucks last night. Giannis fumbled the game away both literally and figuratively. He had a hobbled Harden guarding him in the paint and he settles for a turnaround J? Terrible.

Bucks are done.

Bucks are always going to be the Bucks and come up short. Nets are in a decent spot now, even if they are less than full strength, given their win and Embiid's persistent knee issues that probably only get worse.

I read injuries are worse than normal across sports because the COVID break put more players out of a routine. James Harden going chubby mode only the most visually notable example.

Clips win without Kawhi!? In Utah!? Has George finally found his postseason groove in LA? This postseason just keeps getting wackier by the day... Wonder who the next big name to drop to injury will be?

Just a brutal loss last night for the Sixers and the night before fir the Bucks. But, the way these games have gone, starting to think can't count any team remaining out...

My Nets-Clippers nightmare scenario is looking far too real right now.

CP3 out is bad and then contact tracing of the other players. I have a funny feeling it will all be worked out before the Western Finals though and Chris will be deemed active or at worse one game lost. The Suns are too fun of a team for the NBA to strictly follow rules now particularly with all the changes going on in the country of how states are handling things.

Right now, with the Brooklyn injuries, it is anyone's Ship.

He choked, but so did the rest of the Sixers.

It was 60% Ben, 30% Harris (who had 4 points on a $180,000,000 contract), and 10% everyone else (0% Embiid or Curry).

For people that don't watch the Sixers, you might think that Ben Simmons is good. Let me inform you: he is not. He's a point guard that doesn't distribute the ball and refuses to shoot. He's shooting 31% from the free throw line. 31%! The Hawks were deliberately fouling him down 20 in the first half because he refuses to practice shooting in the off season. This is not hyperbole; I am a better shooter than Ben Simmons.

Why do the Sixers collapse late in games? Because they have a PG that can't touch the ball in the half court offense because he can't shoot and can't pass. Every possession he stands at the baseline in the dunker position while Curry and Embiid work the pick and role. And Ben refuses to work on the most fundamental skills he needs to have to be good at his profession. It's professional malpractice that he can't shoot after 4 years as a pro player; he swears every year he's going to get better at shooting and he's actually gotten worse.

The Sixers need to trade Ben in the offseason. Take whatever you can get. Send him and whatever you need to package him with to get Dame Lilliard. But you're never getting out of the second round with a PG that's so offensively anemic that he can't be permitted to touch the ball in the 4th quarter.

Embiid faded at the end of the game as well when they needed him most. He wasn’t making any plays at the end and missed 2 foul shots with the game on the line. Similar to Giannis with the Bucks. I do agree that Simmons and Harris are the biggest culprits.

Not even sure you gotta shoot for Dame. Any PG that scores at a higher clip might do. I'm sure there are other options out there...

The Sixers have coddled Simmons so much. I don't care how good he is on defense. This is 1992. You can't win when you have a player as offensively inept as Simmons. Say all you want about Giannis' struggles as an offensive player, at least he's willing to shoot the ball.

I can't put it on Embiid. He and Curry were the only Sixers to score in the second half.

Giannis needs to better in the clutch and take fewer 3s, etc. Just live and operate in the paint more overall... But dude gets A TON of grief for, removing the Game 2 debacle when the entire Bucks team was trash, is averaging 34 points and 13 rebounds in the other 4 games.
