Steelers - Iggles

I think that’s an overreaction to say this game shows where we stand. I guess the NFL world should be saying the same thing about the Lions.

I think we all should have known today was going to be an uphill battle without Pickens, no Elliott didn’t help either.

Najee’s fumble really hurt, that drive was looking good and could have went for a tying TD. We had some real bad and untimely stupid penalties as well.

Eagles are a good team, it was going to be tough with the missing players and we couldn’t afford the boneheaded moves we had.

Onto the Ravens, that one was alwsys more important than this Eagles game and that much more important now.
The Ravens are going to win, especially if Pickens is out.

A 10.5 minute drive with 4 time stoppages to close it out and the Eagles didn't even score. That's unusual. And pretty low-t for the Steelers.

The Ravens sure are more than due to beat the Steelers, it hasn’t happened much in recent years.

I’ll just go with the thought as or right now that it can easily go either way and will wait til Saturday and hope for the best. And if they end up losing, it still won’t take me to the brink where I’m thinking the Steelers have no chance against the real elite of the league (whomever that elite is, just about every team has shown they have some warts including the Chiefs who have only 1 loss but haven’t exactly blown hardly anyone out of the stadium in doing so.

I was really impressed with the speed of the Eagles’ defense. The Eagles seemed to be playing fast - as though they had a mic in the Steelers huddle, while the Steelers were moving slow - as though their feet were immersed in concrete.

The Steelers’ O makes every D look like they’re playing fast because the O is as predictable as can be.

Bradshaw said on Fox after the game that the Steelers OLine was badly beaten by the Eagles DL, it wasn't close. He said the OLine couldn't handle the Eagles rushers.

Oline still needs a lot of upgrading in the offseason, against really good teams there is no time for Russell Wilson to throw.

Let's keep it real. The Steelers will either get blown out once again in the first round of the playoffs or they'll actually end up winning a close one. But even if they win their 1st playoff game in 8 years they'll just end up heading to Buffalo and get crushed by 40 points.

So is that a successful season for you all? Me personally thinks Mike Tomlin has held this team and organization back for 10+ years now.

Terry Bradshaw=Captain Obvious. Thanks Terry for that most cutting edge analysis.

Actually he summed it up nicely for those who might not have seen the game.

I just don’t know why the Steelers have often been starting slow in these weighty games for the past several years. Getting boat raced in the 1st quarter has been the norm and something we’ve come to expect.

at this snapshot in time, it’s looking like we are staring down the barrel of another 1st round beat down.

How can a team predicated on the run be so awful at it year after year?

Sure, they’ve had a few good games running, but this is nearly a decade of ineptitude. They brought in Harris because they wanted to fix it and this is year 4 with him (I think) and they still suck.

The OL needed to have a running game still sucks. Also, I don’t get zone blocking. I thought you were supposed to find a guy and push him out of the way. How is this policing an area working out? No too good.

Tom Brady should just say it: “I’ve seen this Mike Tomlin team plenty of times and I would rip this one apart just like the others.” He has to be thinking it.
He has to be thinking his Coach from Michigan, Terrel Austin, isn’t much of a pro defensive coordinator.

JPJ avoiding contact like a Karen during Covid.
Are tackles a desirable statistic for a cornerback? How many missed tackles?
Wait. Is AJ Brown paid a lot of money to do just that? You’re going out of your way to point out that an all pro receiver made a catch against a corner that you don’t like.
You guys try too hard.
You know it's true but now you need to admit that you were wrong.
He’s bum…gotten eaten alive by Brown
I’d like to see Porter tackle more…but knowing him he would be late into the pile and accumulate personal fouls. We already see enough penalties from him. So I won’t be critical of his soft play. But this slap fight between y’all is comical. I just watched the condensed game and for the whole game Pedo Porter looks to have missed 1.5 tackles, and gave up only two catches, both 3rd down conversions through the air to Brown. That’s it. One was a back shoulder throw in which he had great coverage. The other Brown created separation at the line of scrimmage on a quick little slant. That’s throughout the entire game. It happens to the best of them even when playing a ham and egger, let alone a pro bowler. It’s easy to pick on a corner as a fan because everyone sees when he gives up plays. 2nd round pick for him wasn’t bad. He’s a better pro than Terrell Edmunds was and Terrell wasn’t bad. He just wasn’t an impact player. (I’m comparing the two based on where they were drafted).

Our 10-3 record and namebrand, in conjunction with them having some frustrations throughout the week and us having some key injuries, was not a good formula. I had a bad feeling we were going to get bullied.

We're a good team, but we have nowhere near the talent they do. They might be the most stacked team in the league on a per position basis. We don't have the talent Baltimore does, either. We'll see if we're able to drag them into the muck again.

Are you referring to the back shoulder throw on the last drive? The one where the refs allowed JPJ to grab and hold the WR with both hands 10 yards down the field.

Agree with everything you said but conspiring him to Edmunds is damning praise. LOL. Edmunds was an awful draft pick and only the Steelers had him that high on the board. Wonder if they got confused and thought they were drafting his brother. Lo

Okay cheapskate.
Ravens win and you stop posting for a month. Steelers win and I stop posting for a month.
Deal?
Not that important to me. You're the one all worked up. I'm not a gambler.

I don't give $ to something that is ruining a sport I've always enjoyed.

I mean we have a highly paid TE who can’t really block .
And the good blocking TE we really don’t use -
Plus we keep trying to use these hybrid players like Heyward and Pruitt who also can’t block well , and offer no passing threat .

I’m starting to honestly hate Van Jefferson getting so many snaps .

Can we also please understand that Teryl Austin is overmatched in his role?

Tomlin has called the defense since Dick left.

I have said for a while now that I don't understand how Teryl has escaped any scrutiny in all of this.
Because word out there is Austin is a figurehead DC, it's Tomlin who is actually calling the defensive plays(no wonder our secondary has looked terrible for years now). Brian Flores should have been promoted to DC a couple of years ago but of course King Tomlin wouldn't allow that, has to be his buddies. No coaching tree at all 17 years in the league. Pathetic.

How can a supposed great coach have not a single disciple in 17 years branch out and take the reigns of another team? I think it says alot about Tomlin. Exactly what is says about him is debatable, but I can't think that most people don't find it somewhat incriminating.
