Steelers vs Ravens Gamethread

Some very poor tackling today, yards after contact must be ridiculous to this point.

Wow, just absolutely owning us right now. Total physical domination. I better turn this off before I develop night tremors.

Jackson is a mediocre passer but this O is so well called. Tough to stop. You can actually win with an average to below average passing game.

Stats certainly back this up. Ravens are 1st in rushing offense, next to last in passing offense.

Team is flat on both sides of the ball gotta hope they can flip the switch like the titans did last week and make a game of it

Put that defensive lineman at fullback to start the second half and try to establish some physicality. This offensnse has been putrid today and a change of pace might be good.

Can’t really blame Ben for a lot of this, but he has been bad. Some ugly misfires, and that pass Samuels dropped was a terrible decision. Conner was wide open for an easy 1st down.

The ravens and Jackson are really good
This game is on our non-existent offense far

Not to turn this into another Lamar Jackson referendum, but I really believe it will be more of the same for the Ravens this year. Great regular season, but in the playoffs the weather is a little colder and it gets tougher and tougher to run the ball. At some point you need to be able to throw the ball down the field if you fall behind, and after 3 years nothing I’ve seen from Lamar Jackson shows me he is capable of doing that against playoff type competition.

I don’t see them as ever winning a Super Bowl with such an unbalanced offense.

Lamar has 3 turnovers already today. Steelers should not be trailing in this game. Within 3 now, but gotta figure out what to on D without Alualu in there. Buggs is a disaster, 2 down linemen didn’t work that well either.... need some sort of solution.

It’s pretty clear that if the Chiefs stay healthy and play well, then nobody is beating them.

Nothing about that penalty makes sense. I know the rule is that they call that a dead ball foul, but why? Technically the infraction doesn't occur until the snap of the ball, because before that you can always run the extra guy off. But then did the Stillers decline the penalty? Because they snapped the ball for the extra point from the 15, which is where they snap it from without the penalty. If they did decline it, why would you do that? If not, why didn't they mark off any yards?

I don’t know
He’s dynamic.
Much worse quarterbacks have won

Romo said they told Tomlin it was dead ball and he could not decline it, so tomlin was curious why they were even allowed to snap the ball then? Very odd, I was perplexed too how that resulted in kicking from the same spot.

Edwards-Helaire was such a great pick by them, guy adds a new dimension to their offense. I see KC as the opposite of the Ravens, maybe not at their best every game of the regular season, but they are going to amp it up offensively in the playoffs.

Game has changed though, got to be able to throw the ball a little in the playoffs if you want to have a chance to win it all. Unless you are that superior to everyone else at some point you will fall behind and need to get the ball downfield. Without the benefit of play action I don’t think he can do it.

Assuming hes not here after this season his toughness will be missed.

Yeah, that's a tough one to manage. He's a guy I love having one this team. At the same time, I think he's going to get paid a lot of money... much more than would be justifiable for his role here. Just sucks.
