As noted - Pickens is Not

We'll see. He utilizes the middle of the field at a historically awful rate. Can we win every week by lobbing balls down the sidelines? We shall see.
He looked like shit in the first half. Had to be rusty, and he showed it.
However he found his stride, and the receivers responded to him.
His accuracy was off on some throws, but he did show great touch on other throws.

One of the keys is, teams have to respect the deep threat and that makes room for the run game. Harris and Warren are a viable 1/2 punch, and nice to see they got Washington more involved in the short pass game.

Like you said, we shall see.

I'm not writing him off or anything. I hope it works, and so far so good. It just feels like "touch" is the euphemism I keep hearing for "lobbing underthrown lollipops up and down the field." Maybe I'm not giving him enough credit, but I didn't see him do anything Duck Hodges couldn't do.

Aside from showing up to the stadium with a half-decent haircut.

I have a sneaky feeling that Mike Williams, who caught a couple balls last night against the Steelers, will be a Steeler this week.
Mike Williams would be a nice pickup, and there's really no room for him in NY. Might be a chance to resurrect himself, and give the Steelers another weapon.

As for Pickens, he had a really nice game. Let's see him string some games together and take that next step.

Does Williams Move the needle much more than what they have? Seems like they are just adding another retread
I think he’s a decent #2. And for a team who doesn’t have a true #1 or anything else beyond that, I think he helps.

Yet you post in a fair amount of the threads. So perhaps you’re making yourself sick. Easy enough to pass by anything that doesn’t interest you.
Check out the threads on here and one would think it's a stillers message board. Last time I checked it's a Pitt message board but used by many for yinzer BS. I get enough of this BS from the local Pittsburgh News. You can easily not read my posts. Thx H2P!

In fairness, there's always PSU and Hoopie crap. In addition we have Browns stadium, Yankees, Penguins, Army/Navy, USC/Maryland, Curt Cignetti, Cal, Broncos/Saints, OSU/Oregon, and that's just the front page.

A few Steeler threads aren't a problem.

There are plenty of threads I’m not interested in or tire of. But so as not to make myself nauseated I just skip them nevermind continuing to post in them.

Telling people what to post/not to post is about as effective as pissing in the wind. And it’s obnoxious. Who are you (or am I) to tell anyone what to post? It’s been going on for years and Peak allows it. Begins and ends there.

Well I agree that alot of threads as well posters that should've been banned along time ago. But some are paying members, get in timeout and it continues. I've known many Pitt fans that have left this site due to non Pitt sports talk.

It’s easy enough to pick and chose. For example, the betting threads. One now says Pitt -3.5. I don’t bet and I never will. So I don’t click on it.

I guess some people can’t help themselves and they end up bailing entirely. To each their own.

Do you know anything about sports? If little Souf ever has the privilege of having a coach ride him or push him to get more out of him, tell little Soufie not to get discouraged because that’s a good thing. It’s when a coach doesn’t do that to you that you should worry because the coach knows he can’t get anything out of you. We are the same way. Have you noticed that no one here was pointing out Scottie Miller dropping balls and not running routes? There’s a reason we want more out of George and are indifferent on the Van Jefferson’s and Scottie Millers.
Your posts aren’t influencing a pro player .

It’s yinzerism .
Same way fans turned on JuJu despite doing all the dirty work on the field to the detriment of his stats and health .

Good coaches know you reach kids in different ways .
Tomlin is a good coach because he understands it’s not one size fits all .
Hell it’s the same with kids .

There were fans in my section who after Austin had his 1 reception on a nice gain yelled “See George , that’s how you get open !”
Which made me laugh as Austin was targeted 4 times and only had the 1 catch .
People can’t accept info that disagrees with their preconceived opinions .

Steeler threads are just as polarizing as political threads. And as long as Chris allows it, we will continue to do it because Facebook and Twitter aren’t an option.

Word salad that said nothing. What else you got?

For many of the same reasons ironically.
Would those reasons be tribalism? There’s plenty of tribalism in the Pitt threads here. Objectivity is a rarity, but because everyone is in the same tribe it’s not as polarizing.

I don't even know that #5 is a guarantee if the Chargers and Bengals start to figure some things out. I mean if we play like we did in the second half yesterday, then sure. Just saying it's too early to tell, and we're one game into a QB switch.
There is nothing to figure out for the Bengals. They don't have enough talent on defense to stop a decent opponent. And their offense is hot and cold. When they are on they are like the Greatest Show on Turf Rams. But they have a lot of games where Burrow gets sacked a lot and they barely move the ball. That team is destined for 7-10

If you’re referring to Souf blaming Fields for all the steeler problems while defending Kenny, then yeah I agree.
Yup. All those people who trashed picket and support fields are racists in addition to those who endlessly praise Tomlins streak of mediocrity but trash McCarthy are also racist

Clown world

He fought for the sticks on that one play which showed he actually was aware of down and distance.

Buddy , I was sitting in 119 .
He was interfered with all night
But I’ll say it again-
He is not a problem with our offense
last night, not so much... but as we all know talented prima donnas rarely cause problems with team chemistry throughout the course of a season...

Amazing what even bad offenses can do against a depleted defense

I wouldn’t spike the football now. Let’s see how they do against legit defenses and teams
The Jets sounded pretty legit when everybody and their brothers were picking them to win. After all they have the great Aaron Rodgers.

I think it’s arguable, but it could be argued the Jets have more talent than the Steelers. And of course Vegas very clearly thought the Jets were better than the Steelers. They have a very good defense when healthy and all kinds of weapons on offense. But something is amiss. Probably Aaron. Actually likely it starts with him.

Glad you admit that.
Not sure what I’m wrong about
That Pickens is the only legit receiving threat we have ?
That he has been the leading receiver for a couple years now ?

That he’s not why Fields struggled with reading defenses or throwing accurately down field ?
