NCAA Tournament Thread

Finally was able to watch the Smith/Valencia match. Valencia got two nice takedowns early in the first. As Smith was working for a reversal, it looked like Valencia jammed his knee pretty bad. Valencia gutted the rest of the match out but he couldnt move anymore and screamed in pain audibly more than a few times.

I expected to see an impressive win by Smith, but that wasnt really it. That knee injury changed the entire match
 
He uses that sweep single so well outside of these big matches. Its like he just clams up
You need more than one move to score and win in big matches. Every guy knows what he is going to try and is not worried about anything else.

You have to show the move for anyone to be worried about it. He didnt shoot any of them in 2 matches so does it even count as a move? His "one move", as you say, is a russian tie. He let Byrd punch into his underhook over and over again while looking for that russian. So like I said, he clammed up and stayed in his comfort zone and tried to win a close match. It burned him as it has so many times before.

he wasn’t moving well or doing anything. Nerves kills these guys sometimes
